Bissell Centre lunch

Our Outreach Committee is excited to be working with the Inner City Pastoral Ministry (ICPM) again on Sunday, June 16th.  On this Fathers’ Day morning, we are going to provide and serve lunch to approximately 200 inner city residents at the new Bissell Centre.

There are a number of ways that you can help us:

  1. Donate FOOD. If you would like to donate food for this meal, please sign up on the sheets provided in the narthex. We are most in need of sandwiches and dessert. All food items should be dropped at the church on Saturday, June 15th between 9:30 and 11:30 AM or before 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 16th. Sign-up sheets are in the narthex.
  2. Help SERVE lunch at the Bissell Centre on Sunday, June 16th. We will meet at Riverbend United Church at 8:15 on Sunday to load up our vehicles with food and will then make our way to the Bissell Centre. When we arrive, we will be assigned jobs by the staff of the Inner City Pastoral Ministry and will attend their church service. Youth are welcome to help out, but we are asked not to bring children. Lunch is usually over by 1:30. Casual clothes work best. Sign-up sheets are in the narthex.
  3. Donate MONEY that we will use to purchase extra food. If you write a cheque to the church, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt at the end of the year.
