Book Club
Several members and friends of the congregation have met as a Book Club for years. Membership shifts as people’s interests change. The group meets on the last Tuesday of the month, except for December, July, and August. Whoever is participating gets together for the June meeting and decides on the selections for the next year, as well as who will host which meetings. In the past, meetings have been hosted at members’ homes, with refreshments contributing to the conversational “flow”.
While the 2020-21 meetings have been held via Zoom, we hope and expect to return to in-person gatherings post-COVID. The initial focus is of course on the book being discussed, but we find that it moves on to other matters of particular interest or concern at that time. These personal conversations, usually enhanced by wine, are a treasured part of our time together. Book selections are usually, but not always, novels; they may be serious or more light-hearted. New members are always welcome: anyone interested should feel free to try us out.
