Meet Our Care Coordinator
Over the past couple of months, Riverbend United Church has been looking to fill a new position, that of Care Coordinator. When Joanne Olson vacated the Parish Nurse position, the Board consulted with Valerie regarding the kind of pastoral care help that would be the most beneficial for her and the congregation.
A hiring committee was formed, a job description prepared and the position advertised, both on our website and in the announcements. (The description is still available to read on the website under News and Events.) From there, the interview process was undertaken, and a very qualified candidate was offered the position.
We are pleased to introduce Holly Ruryk as our Care Coordinator, although we are sure she is familiar to many of you. Holly has been worshipping at Riverbend United Church for 11 years and is a very active volunteer. She serves on the Outreach committee, is a member of the Turkey Team, and is one of the driving forces behind our annual Garage Sale. A retired nurse, Holly now enjoys spending more time with her family, especially her grandkids. She’s an avid fan at her grandkids’ sporting events and musical festivals. She has also been trying to master her banjo, but that is still in the works! And lastly, she can be found on the pickleball courts.
She is looking forward to this new role and one of the many things she hopes to do is revive the previous Care Team.
Please take a moment to welcome Holly in this new role. She can be reached at carecoordinator@riverbendunited.org.
