Riverbend United Church is getting Solar Panels!
Why?
As part of our creed, “We are called to live with respect in creation.” In Alberta 88% of our electricity comes from fossil fuels that directly contribute to climate change.
What?
63 solar panels will be installed on the Riverbend road (east) side of the sanctuary. The 29kV system will provide 32 MWhr annually or 39% of our needs.
When?
Install will be late May early June.
This is a call for Stewardship. While a portion of the $70,000 system is covered by grants, we are making a special call for donations for this project. Over the next few weeks we will have special announcements that cover different aspects of this exciting project:
