One of the happiest occasions in our church life is when we have a baptism to celebrate. Baptism is not just for children, but for all ages, from newborns through to centenarians. Usually taking place during a regular worship service, the Sanctuary is filled with love and joy as we embrace those being baptized into the church family. As an Affirming community we welcome:
- Parents and individuals of different religions, economic background, ethnicity, mental and physical abilities, gender expression
- same-gender, two-gender, and single parent families
- all individuals regardless of sexuality
and pledge to offer our support, guidance and encouragement to the parent(s), child, and individual as they embark on their spiritual journey as members of this faith community,
The sacrament of baptism is celebrated at Riverbend United Church with joy and reverence for people of all ages. Baptisms usually take place during a Sunday service so that everyone in the church community can celebrate in the sacrament together.
